Trying some more stuff with colours. The roundrels are inspired by Miyazaki’s Porco Rosso. Every time we watched it (my wee lad is a huge fan – so we’ve watched it many times) I was planning what colours to paint my roundrels. Now I’m happy. More or less. And if anyone were to shout “Show us yer roundrels!!” at me – I could! Mmmmmm… Roundrels…

Have been working on a few exercises in colour – need to get ’em finished before I start on a new body of work that I’m quite excited about.

Heres on that I finished a week or so ago:

I also started instantgramming https://www.instagram.com/kiramekisan/ . Very exciting.

Was also excited (easy there!) by this http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/12/silver-rest-vw-type2-panel-van/ – always like Dino’s stuff, unlike some of the other speedhunters (the whiney ones specifically), but this article also touches on some social issues in Japan that echo my thoughts from living there and marrying into the madness…

Started off as an experiment with masking tape. Discovered that I didn’t really like using masking tape. Added Bullet Bill as the stripes didn’t seem right by themselves.

Or one, at least. But no blood. Wondered how that clown would look if I piled it in with a bunch of other stuff

First painting in a year…

The stripes on the right are inspired by Jeff Koons’ BMW M3 GTR Art Car that ran at Le Mans in the GT2  class this year. I didnt really think about it at the time, but now the juxtaposition of Mr Sparkle (I am the Harsh Nemesis of all that is Unclean!!!) and BaikinMan (baikin being germ in Japanese) now strikes me as right nice.

Of Doom!!!

This is number Ni in the set of Yon.

Whatever could be next?

Surely not…

This is the first of a set of four. What will the second say?

Does the excitement ever stop?

No. No it doesnt.

So…

Of Doom!

Inspired by the last photo in Frank Zappa’s “The Real Frank Zappa”.

Just cant stop meself, really.

The arrival of Spring got me so het up, I even felt the need to create the Zombie Sakura of Doom.

Spring had really gotten me by the paintbrush, so this poor box was the victim.

That shadow is either my head or my knee. They both look pretty similar.

Subliminal Projects Gallery in LA held a John Van Hamersveld gig, so um, yeah, I did this…

Endless Summer Rules!!!

Still on the Zombie Sakura trip… This might go on for a while.
