After painting the 88′ Cyclecraft I decided that I wouldn’t paint another small diameter tubing 1980s BMX frame given what a mission it can be. Let alone forks. So when a friend asked if I would like to paint his early 80s Hattori Pro Sight frame of course I said yes.

Not sure what brand the handlebars were, but they’re “Ut Tentacles” now.

Sure, it all looks great on our very old deck that needs a stain, but how about on a wall surrounded by some killer artwork?

I have a few more bikes lined up to paint this year – all have a lot more paintable surface!

Was very happy to get this done – even more happy to see it built up as a real bicycle. It’s now back with it’s rightful keeper in Christchurch NZ. It may have even been ridden once or twice! Here are some photos, first with some white Fredz bars (the right bars for this bike, but not the right colour) and then with some S&M 7.5in rise Slams.

It’s been a bit of an upheavalish time of late hasn’t it? I have new work to show, but have just discovered that I really need to take some better photos of them, so that’ll be later in the week. This tube looking thing is indeed a tube – the downtube of a late 80’s Cyclecraft 24in BMX frame that I’m (slowly) painting for a good friend from my late 80’s BMX days. I’m not airbrush equipped, so I’m treating it as an annoyingly small-tubed canvas and doing it all with a brush. This is the test section (the downtube sticker will cover it) to see how the paint would work. Quite well, it seems! The rest of it will be a bit more in keeping with my other work, in between paying work. Because $ has been a bit upheavaled too! Appreciate anyone who is taking the time to check this out and hope you are well. Stay safe!

Been a bit busy hanging out with a young feller who is about to start walkin’ soon. So, being a dad who plans ahead, went shoe shopping…

There’s much more to share – my WTP cruiser purchase from W-Base in Shibuya (had to ride the thing 40km home to Machida, but couldnt sit down & pedal due to the miniscule seatpost, so stood up the whole way after not having ridden a BMX bike for 15 years), more Group C & Nismo goodness from KN’s Factory, a wrap up of my time at Fukushima San’s Grand Slam Pro, some more painting & stickerings and probably more guff.

Hope youve been well!

Some cool stuff on SPRFLS blog today.

Heh – G-Sport George is a funny feller. Say no to Jaysus indeed!

& Russ was right – Kris Bennett rules.

I have one Bicycle Motocross Action die cut visor sticker left from my first year of BMX, which would look perfect on this Nissan Gloria…

I really want this car. Anyone want to pay over the odds for a painting of some daft looking red-eyed pandas conceived in a dubious manner? The car is on the Flyrat lot in Machida, Tokyo. It is sunny as all heck today (but 9 degrees), so I will mosey on by there this afternoon to see if they have anything new (well, old, but, anyway…) & post some more in the next couple of days.
