My first solo exhibition exhibited itself at The Incubator gallery in Tauranga NZ in December 2020. Was quite a trip! And a good way to see out a year that presented a challenge or two for quite a few people. I respectfully invite you to feast yer peepers:

“Anata ga motte iru koto, tomodachi.”. Largest piece I’ve done to date at 91x123cm. Available for $2500NZ. free shipping to most NZ and Australian addresses. Further afield? I’m sure we could work something out…

“A Biru… Biru…”. If you guessed that the title is a Google translation of the speech bubble, then you’re darn well correct! Nice one! Congratulations!! Omedeto!!! You win Tuesday!!!!
“Kusuri… Osugiru… Shigamitsuku koto ga dekinai…”. Again – a Google translate of the speech bubble – but I think you know how to play this game by now. Still – I admire your consistency. Mmmmmm… so consistent…

Kachimasu San, Yon, Go!!!

Yes indeed – owari desu! Which is just super. And you’ll be able to see them in real life if you’re in Tauranga NZ during December!

Group photo is taken in the gym at my son’s school as our house (which is also my studio) is just a bit small to group ’em together. Should have a couple more to show in the next week or so.

What’s a couple of days between friends? Not much at all! Kachimasu Ichi & Ni, the first two of a set of five. San is under way, Yon & Go will be done after I’ve finished a couple of other things – which I’ll show right here on this very blog quite soon (you may have noticed that committing to precise times isn’t really my forte.).

This series should be in a solo exhibition (my first!) in November. Provided Covid hasn’t screwed even more up by then. But I’ll try to stay positive. Even if an amply proportioned woman did cough rice all over the table and floor at my wife’s place of work today.

I’ve suggested that she wear something like this when she goes in tomorrow.

It’s been a bit of an upheavalish time of late hasn’t it? I have new work to show, but have just discovered that I really need to take some better photos of them, so that’ll be later in the week. This tube looking thing is indeed a tube – the downtube of a late 80’s Cyclecraft 24in BMX frame that I’m (slowly) painting for a good friend from my late 80’s BMX days. I’m not airbrush equipped, so I’m treating it as an annoyingly small-tubed canvas and doing it all with a brush. This is the test section (the downtube sticker will cover it) to see how the paint would work. Quite well, it seems! The rest of it will be a bit more in keeping with my other work, in between paying work. Because $ has been a bit upheavaled too! Appreciate anyone who is taking the time to check this out and hope you are well. Stay safe!

It’s been some time since I last posted, but totemo isogashi desu.

Firstly, I finished 男、その8ビットの弾丸が私の一日を作った、ビル。, which is this one:

Then painted a skateboard deck for the Show Us Your Deck exhibition at the Incubator gallery in Tauranga, New Zealand.

If you’d like one of those, get in touch via my fb page https://www.facebook.com/misutasupakuru/ .

Other than that, Merry Xmas and have a kickass New year!

Via my Google to facebook and back translating method it ends up being “She put flowers on her kimono”, which is ok, but I might need to try another method in future. Or name the next few from Homer Simpson quotes. Or Genbaku Onanies lyrics. Good to get it finished and it’s off to it’s new home. And I had some postcards made! PM me if you’d like one.

“For some reason the bug didn’t know yet”. Thanks again to a 2x interweb translate. Finished this some time ago, but hadn’t shared it! Wtf?! I just don’t know…

The Superman image is from a Rodney Mullen Real deck graphic. Because Rodney is The Man.

As the title is a rough translation of, it’s “un named as yet”, which it might continue to be, or I might let Mr fb translatotron do it’s magic. This is acrylic on a hardboard panel – have almost finished the next one on a hardboard panel too. Although I think I prefer canvas. Probably.
